How to get to Bataan

Bataan is about 124 kilometers away from Manila and is easily accessible either by land or by sea.

By private transport

Bataan is made more accessible for people driving from Manila via the Subic Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) and North Luzon Expressway. From San Fernando, exit to Jose Abad Santos (aka Olangapo-GApan Road) going to Lubao Pampanga and Dinalupihan Bataan. When you reach the Layac Junction, turn left to Roman Super Highway which will lead to the City Center of Balanga, Bataan.  If via SCTEX, take the Dinalupihan exit and turn right at Roman Super Highway.

The travel time will be between 2-3 hours by public vehicle, despite the traffic condition. Leaving early in the morning from Manila is the best way to avoid the rush hour.

By public transportation or bus

While not the most convenient, buses are the primary mode of transport to Bataan from Manila. There various bus lines in Pasay, Avenida, and Cubao that can take passengers there for a little less than ₱200 such as the following

By sea:

A unique way to travel to Bataan is by Manila-Bataan Ferry Boat traveling from Manila to Orion, which cuts travel time to just 1 hour. The terminal for this ferry is located at Esplanade – Seaside Terminal MOA beside Vikings and Port Capinpin, Orion, Bataan.

The ferry is operated by 1 Bataan Integrated Transport System. Inc. The schedule of their ferry transport constantly changes, it’s best to check their website or Facebook page and book ahead.

You might want to consider looking into Esplanade Seaside Terminal as an alternative transport option.

Morong

This is the nearest Bataan town that can be accessed directly from the metro making it an ideal go-to beach destination for families who just want to have a quick getaway. Bagac

Bagac sits between Morong and Mariveles with its own share of coastline at the western side of Central Luzon.  This is also the biggest town in Bataan and houses some of the oldest churches in the country.
