DFA Online Appointment For Passport Application And Renewal

If you want to travel overseas whether it’s for leisure or work, securing a passport is the first step to make that happen. Your passport is one of the many passes that you need to enter another country. As we wait for our national ID system to completely roll out, the Philippine passport is also your most reliable proof of citizenship.

Getting a passport nowadays is a lot easier compared to a few years ago. The process is now more streamlined and you can now schedule your visit to the nearest Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) location to kick start your passport application.

The process will be in two parts, the online appointment setting with DFA and your personal appearance on the day of the appointment. The entire process is simple and setting up an appointment is easy!

You can read our guide to applying for a Philippine passport if you are not too familiar with the whole process.

Booking an appointment

  1. Go to https://www.passport.gov.ph/appointment.
  2. Tick the box for the terms and conditions, and choose the “Start Individual Appointment” button to proceed.

  3. Choose the nearest DFA location from the drop-down list. The address and contact information of the DFA site will appear. Click next after you’ve chosen your preferred location.
  4. Choose your appointment date and time.
  5. Fill in the necessary information and then click Next. Remember to check the box above the form.
  6. Fill out Family Information and then hit Next.
  7. Fill out application information and then hit Next.
  8. Fill out contact information and hit Next.
  9. Review all the entered information. After checking everything is correct, click on the box that confirms you are not a robot, check the box reminding you of your responsibilities when having a passport and then hit Confirm.
  10. Choose the processing type and mode of payment and then click Pay Now. You will see a pop up reminder as well. Afterwards you can click proceed to payment.

Personal appearance

Come appointment day, it’s time to drive to the DFA branch you’ve chosen. Be sure to get there 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Here’s what you do next.

  1. Bring all the required documents.
  2. Duly accomplished application form (form downloaded from the website or the email).
  3. Observe proper dress code (must be smart casual with collar shirts for men).
  4. All applicants (regardless of age) are required to make a personal appearance.
  5. For minors, a parent or a guardian must be present at the appointment.
  6. Present your printed application form at the Application Counter.
  7. Go to the Information Counter and get your priority number.
  8. Wait for your number to be called.
  9. Once you have completed the procedure, you can head to the Delivery Counter to choose whether to collect the passport at the DFA office or have it delivered to your home. Either way, your passport will be ready after 15 working days (regular) or 7 working days (expedited). The fees will vary depending on how soon you want the passport to be ready.
  10. Once you’ve completed the process, all you have to do now is to wait to claim your passport.
