
Local Airlines Preparing For Resumption Of Flights In June
With the easing of the quarantine measures in June, local air carriers are preparing for the possible resumption of their commercial operation. The general community quarantine (GCQ) will be easing travel restriction as announced by Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade announced on Thursday. Tugade said the domestic air operation will be allowed as long as its between GCQ to GCQ areas.
According to PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna, PAL is closely coordinating with local and national government authorities on the necessary implementing rules and arrangements to finalize our routes and flight schedules and the information on the routes and flights will be disseminated to the public once it’s finalized.
Meanwhile, the communications head of AirAsia Philippines said they are planning to resume domestic flights by June gradually. Currently, they are coordinating with aviation authorities and respective LGUs for their own guidelines regarding the opening of local airports, as some may still possibly be closed in June.
