NAIA Faces Terminal Fee Hike
During the public hearing held late today, authorities proposed a terminal fee increase for both domestic and international flights in NAIA. International flights will be ₱750 from ₱550, while domestic flights will be ₱300 from ₱200.
These fees might be imposed on April 2019 and will cover infrastructure and service improvements, according to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA). If the increase will not push through, MIAA’s finance department might experience a deficit.
The airport authority earns ₱4 billion annually and 36 percent of collections come from terminal fees.
Based on financial projections for the next 5 years, MIAA will experience a deficit if there is no terminal fee increase. pic.twitter.com/S0B3mH2S4G
