National Wide Daily Minimum Wage Increase To Completely Roll Out This Month

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) hopes that the rise in the daily minimum wage of workers will soften the impact of rising oil and basic goods and services costs. The approved increase is slated to take effect before June ends in all regions.

Metro Manila’s new minimum wage of ₱533-₱570 takes effect on June 4, followed by Western Visayas on June 5 and Ilocos and Caraga on June 6.

₱400-₱420 in Cagayan Valley starting June 8; ₱347-₱368 in Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Koronadal, Sarangani and General Santos City) starting June 9; ₱329-₱355 in Mimaropa (Oriental and Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, ₱alawan) starting June 10; ₱400 in CAR and ₱382-₱435.

On June 18, Bicol and Northern Mindanao will have daily minimum wages of ₱365 and ₱378-₱405, while Davao will have ₱438-₱443.

Central Luzon’s new minimum wage is ₱344-₱460 starting June 20; Calabarzon’s is ₱350-₱470 starting June 30.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said RTWPs in Eastern Visayas and the Zamboanga ₱eninsula Region issued wage directives increasing minimum wages in private firms. He further added that:

“The ₱50-pay hike in Eastern Visayas will take effect on June 27, while the ₱35-wage increase in the Zamboanga ₱eninsula will take effect on June 25, bringing the new minimum wage rates to ₱345-₱375 in Region 8 and ₱338-₱351 in Region 9.”

Domestic workers in 13 districts will get better pay this month, he added

The pay boards in the National Capital Region, Calabarzon, and SOCCSKSARGEN are currently holding public hearings, Bello stated.

In Western Visayas, the new monthly minimum pay for kasambahay was ₱4,500 on June 5; in Ilocos, it was ₱5,000 on June 6; in Cagayan Valley, it was ₱5,000 on June 8; and in Mimaropa, it was ₱4,500 on June 10.

In CAR and Central Visayas, the minimum wage is ₱4,500 and ₱4,500-₱5,500, respectively; in Bicol and Northern Mindanao, it’s ₱4,000 and ₱3,500-₱4,500, respectively.

Central Luzon and Davao Region’s monthly minimum wage for domestic workers will be ₱4,500-₱5,000 and ₱4,500, respectively, starting June 20; the Zamboanga ₱eninsula’s monthly minimum wage will be ₱3,500-₱4,000 starting June 25; Eastern Visayas’ monthly minimum wage will be ₱4,500-₱5,000 starting June 27; and Caraga’s monthly minimum wage will be ₱4,000 starting June 30.
